Beki tries on a grape costume for the float

The Canon City Apple Blossom Parade is this weekend, and Central Colorado Foodshed Alliance is having a float again this year. Last year, CCFA won $200 for their entry!
Thanks to the efforts of some very creative CCFA members in Canon City, this year’s float is coming along nicely, but we need your help!
This year’s theme is “Circus” and Beki came up with a brilliant idea for our float: “Local (Fresh/good) Food is the Circus of Life”
The float will be a Big Top Tent complete with a lion (Dodger the yellow lab with a lion mane) a ring leader (Dave Ward 🙂 are you in?)  A trapeze, and a juggling vegetable!

Here are things we need help with:

1.   We will continue work on the float at Friday morning in Canon City.
2.   We are recruiting people to dress up as fruit and vegetables to ride on or walk beside the float. On Saturday we will be meeting no later than 12:30 at the float.
3. If you can’t walk in the parade, do you own a fruit or vegetable costume we can borrow?

An ordinary rocking horse is transformed into a Carousel Horse!

The next time you see this box, it will be a miniature Abbey on the CCFA float

Contact Beki at Javernick Family Farms to find out where in the line up the CCFA float will be located on Saturday before the parade begins.
